What are Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowls?

The alchemy crystal singing bowls are made of pure, ethically mined quartz blended with crystals, precious gemstones, minerals and precious metals. They have powerful sound healing qualities which transform the listener to exactly where they need to be at any given moment in time. The alchemy bowls that we use and stock at ikigai Sound Temple are made by Crystal Tones®. They have taken years to perfect this unique and patented manufacturing process and are world renowned producers of alchemy crystal bowls.

The bowls produce a beautiful and unique sound which is difficult to describe, one is better to experience the beauty. You play the bowls by striking the outside upper rim or by making smooth strokes around the top third of the bowl. Each practitioner will have a unique way of playing and connecting with the bowls which will develop and change the longer you continue working with them.

Each bowl has it’s own frequency and many of the bowls have two or more overtones. The notes are unique to each bowl and are not determined until after they have been created. Each bowl connects to the individual in different ways. For example, the notes C, D, E, F, G, A, B, and High C all correspond with one’s chakras whilst the sharp notes C#, D#, F#, G# and A# all correspond to the endocrine system. However, there are of course variations to this depending on the size of the bowl, colour and the infusion of gemstones and minerals used during its creation.

The crystal lattice found in the alchemy crystal singing bowl is very similar in form to the structure of the DNA double-helix and has the ability to amplify, harmonise and store electromagnetic forces. Studies have shown that sound frequencies can produce changes in the autonomic, immune and endocrine systems within the body. Therefore, sound has the ability to affect the nervous system allowing the mind to enter a deep state of relaxation. The bowls become an aid in allowing the body to heal at a profound level. They create a truly magical, heavenly sound that radiates throughout the whole body and are wonderful companions for those who struggle with conventional meditation practice.

What is a Crystal Sound Bath?

If you have previously attended a crystal sound bath you’ll know that it is a great way to tune into yourself, a moment in time where you can clear your mind and be at one with all that is. It is a whole body experience whereby you become cocooned in the sound frequencies of the bowls which transport you to a deep state of relaxation and personal journey of discovery.

You can expect to enter the room usually lit by candlelight to help you tune into a peaceful state, ready to let go and feel supported by the sound frequencies that await. You will lie down on a soft yoga mattress with the option to use bolsters, pillows and an eye mask to get as comfortable as possible. You will then close your eyes and listen to the beauty of the alchemy bowls whilst your mind and body is sent into a deep state of relaxation, similar to that experienced in meditation. There is nothing for you to do other than relax and let go of your worries and the busyness of life. The sound bath will usually last approx. 45-60mins and you will be gentle woken at the end of the session, allowing time for reflection and integration back into the here and now.

Who can play the bowls?

Anyone can play the bowls, you don’t have to be a musician or have a musical background. You can attend the ‘Introduction to the alchemy bowls’ with Maria who will talk you through how to look after and play the bowls in your own home.

How do I choose my own bowl?

There are many different ways in which you may decide to choose your alchemy bowl. This all depends on what you will be using it for and what your intentions are. For example, you may wish to purchase a set to use for sound baths as you endeavour to train as a sound facilitator. Or you may wish to buy a bowl for your own personal use and be drawn to a specific chakra, colour, size, unique properties or frequencies, endocrine points or perhaps something more practical such as the cost. Whatever your reasons for purchasing a bowl you can be sure that the right one will choose you and selecting your first one is something very special

Personalised Sound Bath

Immerse yourself in the beauty of the alchemy crystal singing bowls during this personalised sound bath. A chance to rest and restore, taking a pause from all the busyness of life and bringing a sense of balance back to the nervous system and the mind.

The session will start with a herbal tea/water and a friendly welcome to discuss what it is you wish to receive during your unique sound bath. You will then explore the alchemy crystal bowls in more depth and personally choose the bowls you wish to take you on your sound journey.

This is a truly nurturing session which allows you to be creative and explore your inner wishes and desires.

Introduction to the Alchemy Bowls  

During this one to one session you will learn the basics of the alchemy crystal singing bowls to help build confidence in your practice. This will include how to store them, clean them, various playing techniques and learning more about their properties and unique healing qualities.

This session is a chance to tune into the bowls and feel more comfortable to play them on your own, incorporating them into your own daily practice. Perhaps you would like to use them for meditation, relaxation, or deep contemplation. They are there for you!

This session will end with a 30min sound bath to help align and cement all that you have learnt during the session.

About Maria

Maria came into contact with the alchemy crystal singing bowls 10 years ago at a wellbeing show in London. After experiencing their unique ability to help support the body and mind facilitate a deep state of relaxation, she undertook practitioner training to be able to share this knowledge with others. 

Maria is also a qualified psychotherapist. Combining her understanding of psychotherapy, psychology and the alchemy bowls, Maria’s approach is centred around calming the nervous system, whilst also helping you to reconnect with your physical body and become grounded in the here and now. 

Sometimes we need tools to help us achieve a state of relaxation and it’s not always easy to keep a daily meditation practice even though we know the benefits are vast for our physical and mental wellbeing. This is why Maria believes the crystal singing bowls are so special, as they allow an alternative way to connect and tune in, to quiet the mind and truly listen to how we feel.
